Are you an active, former or in-training accountant or bookkeeper with a love for cats and dogs? The Treasurer’s primary role will be to manage the organization’s finances in such a way that minimizes risk and ensures there is sufficient funding available for operations and other activities.
The Treasurer shall also assist in making organizational/operational decisions with financial impacts, both during and between Board meetings. The Treasurer shall sit on the Board of Directors and will be appointed by the current Board. This is a working Board member position.
Role: Treasurer
Commitment: 6 months minimum
Compensation: Volunteer
The time commitment would be approximately 5 to 8 hours per week.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Monthly reconciliation of bookkeeping, records, bank statements. May at times include bookkeeping duties.
Preparation of financial reports, required tax information/returns, financial information for the board and government.
Lead and coordinate the Finance Committee.
Develop and uphold internal Fiscal Policies and Procedures.
Develop, lead and oversee the budget planning process.
Action expense requests, approvals, etc. as needed.
Participate in monthly and/or quarterly Board meetings.
