The Intake Coordinator (IC) plays a key role in supporting the safe and responsible intake of animals into New Collar Collective’s care. Working closely with intake partners and internal teams, ICs ensure we have the capacity, resources, and foster placements needed before committing to any animal.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration, and is essential to helping us say “yes” to animals in need—responsibly.

Time commitment:
Approximately 5–10 hours per week, with flexibility depending on intake timing and urgency. Daily check-ins on communication channels (slack/email) are expected.

Responsibilities include:

Intake & Partner Communication:

  • Regular check in on partner pages to review available animals 

  • Review intake requests and gather key details to communicate with Intake team 

  • Communicate clearly with partners on decisions, timelines, and requirements 

Internal Coordination:

  • Collaborate with Foster, Vetting, Adoptions, and Supplies teams to confirm capacity 

  • Ensure all supports (foster, medical, supplies) are in place prior to intake 

  • Share intake details across teams to ensure alignment 

Foster Placement & Support:

  • Connect with potential fosters to confirm availability and fit 

  • Prepare fosters with key information ahead of intake 

  • Support fosters during the intake process as needed 

Logistics:

  • Coordinate transport and intake timing 

  • Ensure all logistics are confirmed and communicated 

  • Support intake day as needed 

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces and respond in a timely manner 

  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset 

  • Detail-oriented and solution-focused 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment 

  • Able to monitor communication channels daily 

  • Asset - access to a vehicle for onsite intake coordination

Preferred:
Experience in animal rescue, fostering, or coordination roles
