Meet Cookie! This confident, affectionate boy has never met a stranger he didn't want to be friends with. He absolutely loves people and happily greets guests and new friends with enthusiasm, always hoping for a few extra pets and scratches. Cookie enjoys being close to his people and will often follow them from room to room just to keep them in sight. While he loves attention, he's also wonderfully respectful of boundaries - if you're busy working, he's happy to settle nearby and patiently wait for some quality time together. Indoors, Cookie strikes a lovely balance between playful and laid-back, while outdoors his curious, adventurous side shines through. He loves exploring the world around him, spending time outside, and lounging in the grass soaking up the fresh air.
Cookie is cat friendly and would likely do well in a home with children, thanks to his gentle and social nature. He goes on multiple walks throughout the day, enjoys a good game of tug-of-war, and thrives when given opportunities to explore. Despite living in an apartment, he's impressively quiet indoors, even when he hears noises outside. Cookie loves treats, though he can be a bit particular about extras like fruits, vegetables, or yogurt. He's a smart, obedient boy who is making great progress with his leash skills. He has learned to sit and relax before passing through doors, elevators, and building entrances, and he's increasingly showing off loose leash walking skills. While he's still working on crate training, he's able to settle after a few minutes when left home alone and continues to build confidence with the process.
On walks, Cookie can become excited when he sees other dogs and may bark and pull out of frustration when he isn't able to greet them. He is much more successful at greater distances and is able to respond well to cues, showing that he's eager to learn and making steady progress. He may be more likely to react if another dog is focused on him, but with continued guidance, he continues to improve. Cookie also has some prey drive and can be tempted to chase small animals, cars, or his ultimate nemesis - squirrels! Thankfully, when squirrels are farther away, he's able to listen well and respond to commands. Cookie would thrive with a family who can provide him with plenty of outdoor time, opportunities to explore, and continued support as he builds his confidence and leash skills. In return, they'll gain an incredibly friendly, loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people.
