Meet Buffy! Buffy is an adventurous pup with a playful and curious spirit. She’s a big fan of fetch and will drop her toy on her people when she’s ready to play. Buffy loves treats - cheese is her ultimate favourite! She’ll never turn down a snack and especially enjoys interactive toys and sniffing games, like using her snuffle mat. While she enjoys her independence, she’s also a bit of a shadow, preferring to stay close to her humans, especially if they’re busy around the house.

Buffy is mostly friendly when meeting new people, though she’s a bit shy at first. She needs a moment to sniff you out before warming up, but a treat and a gentle hand will have her wagging her tail in no time. Buffy did very well when meeting cats for the first time, showing minimal reaction to them. She gave a few gentle nose bumps and then continued exploring, suggesting she could likely coexist with a cat given slow and proper introductions. In addition, Buffy loves meeting other dogs and enjoys playing with them, regardless of their size. While she matches energy well, she’s still learning to understand social cues, so initial play sessions with new dogs might benefit from a long line leash for some extra space. When walking on a leash, Buffy does pull a bit and loves sniffing everything along the way, especially pigeons. She’s mostly quiet indoors, though she might bark briefly at unexpected noises. Buffy is house trained and does well in her crate! She may cry a bit when her foster leaves but settles down quickly and can stay calm for a few hours on her own. She loves snuggling on the couch and has no problem making herself comfortable there if her foster lets her.

Buffy would do best with an active family who can keep up with her energetic nature and love of exploration. She’s a sensitive, smart girl who would thrive with a family who can continue her training and provide lots of affection and playtime!
