Meet Big Ears! Big Ears is a sweet, gentle, and easygoing guy who has a wonderfully calm and unassuming personality. He is generally very quiet and undemanding, and he enjoys being near his people without needing constant attention. He is perfectly happy to relax on his own and loves going for walks, exploring trails and the woods, car rides, and spending time outdoors. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys a good pace, and is generally calm around traffic and bikes. He also lives with two other dogs and is neutral when passing dogs on walks. He has a very gentle approach to other dogs and tends to avoid conflict, making him a lovely, easygoing companion.

Big Ears is friendly with people and when guests arrive, he prefers to hang back and observe before approaching, rather than immediately seeking attention. He has met children and has been gentle with them. He has also met a cat and showed only mild curiosity without any inclination to chase, so he could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat. He does have some prey drive toward squirrels and rabbits and may pull toward them, but his reactions are manageable. Big Ears isn't particularly fearful, although he benefits from continued confidence building and likes to take his time when faced with something new.

Big Ears is house trained and is working on his basic commands, including down, wait, and leave it. He settles very nicely when he's outside of his crate, but crate training is still a work in progress and has caused him some anxiety. Big Ears is a loving guy who would appreciate a home with some space, ideally with people who enjoy getting outside with their dog. He's just beginning to show more of his playful, energetic, and confident personality. He is such a deserving boy and would love a quiet, loving forever home where he can continue to blossom.
