Meet Aurelia! Aurelia is an incredibly sweet, friendly girl with eyes that will absolutely mesmerize you. She has the perfect balance of playful and calm, and her playful side is coming out more and more as she settles in. She is also smart, inquisitive, and loves exploring and sniffing everything the world has to offer. At home, Aurelia enjoys mentally stimulating toys like snuffle mats and Kongs, but she is just as happy curling up on her bed for a cozy nap. She loves cuddles and pets, but also enjoys her alone time and will happily come find you when she's ready for some affection.
Aurelia is wonderful in an apartment and has proven to be an incredibly easygoing housemate. She is quiet indoors, doesn't react to hallway noises, and isn't bothered by traffic or busy foot traffic around her home. She is friendly with everyone she meets and has been lovely with guests, greeting them at the door with a wagging tail and happily accepting pets. If things get a little too lively, she is also perfectly happy to find a quieter room and settle on her own. She has met young children and children in strollers and has been calm and uninterested, although she has not yet been in a situation where children have been overly excited around her. Aurelia has also met cats in her apartment building and is very curious about them and interested in playing, though she has only seen them while on leash. She could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat.
Aurelia is house trained, crate trained, and has no separation anxiety. She settles easily both in her crate and on her bed and can relax happily when her people are in another room. She is great on leash and is very receptive to training, although squirrels are her one big distraction and she may pull toward them. When meeting other dogs, Aurelia is generally calm and neutral, but she can be a little nervous around larger, high-energy dogs and is especially wary of males. She tends to prefer smaller and female dogs, though she ultimately wants to make friends and we expect her confidence to continue growing. New environments can also feel intimidating at first, but Aurelia is incredibly brave and curious—she doesn't shy away or try to escape, and with some reassurance from her trusted humans, she's ready to try again. She is still revealing more of her personality every day, but one thing is already clear: this sweet, chill girl is going to make an amazing companion.
